Scarf Obsession

I found these in Cape May, New Jersey at the store Making Waves.
I have a large obsession with scarves. I think it is a healthy obsession, because it is something that you use to keep you warm :) Scarves are a fun accessory that can brighten up any outfit as well as add a nice pop or dash of color to any outfit.

The starfish scarves in the picture above, I found at one of my favorite stores in Cape May, New Jersey, called Making Waves. They were $40 on sale for $20 and I really wanted the dark blue one. I could have easily bought them all, but I walked away knowing that I have so many scarves that it didn't make sense to buy another one presently.

Of course, my cousin who lives in New Jersey and is a great shopper like me, found them at a store near her and surprised me by sending one to me in the mail! I was so excited and it was a sweet gesture.

My manicure against my scarf.

My other most recent amazing scarf find came from Nordstroms Rack. I had gone to look for shoes there, but spent so long in the accessories that I found a beautiful scarf with a pom pom edging that I had to have. But again, knowing how many scarves I have, I didn't buy it even though it was a fair $13.97.

I went back to make a return and saw the scarf was still there. I decided, why not and picked it up. The cashier rang it up and said, "You will not believe this, the scarf rang up for one penny!"

I was so surprised that I had to put away my debit card and dig through my purse for a penny! I did, and then asked her if she thought that the other same scarves in different colors would ring up as the same amount. She didn't know and told me to go check. And what do you know, the other five pom pom scarves rang up for only 5 cents total! They didn't even register for tax!!

So I made out like a bandit and didn't even BEGIN to break the bank. SO let me know, what's your best scarf find and do you collect them?

Last (Saturday) Night - Outfit Of the Day

Last week on Saturday, my grandma called me and asked if I wanted to go out to dinner. I love spending time with my grandma, so of course I said yes. She had a coupon for Red Lobster, and I had never been there before.

I hadn't changed out of my pajamas when she called around 4 pm, so I had to shower and get dressed. I wanted to be casual, yet still look nice -- I guess that is how I normally dress.

I also opted for some blue clothing and nautical jewelry since it was a lobster restaurant after all.

Star fish earrings in my first and second hole - from the beach. Anchor earring in cartilage from Piercing Pagoda, $34.99.

Shirt and sweatshirt, Old Navy. Purse, Lulu Guinness for JCP.

Blue flower bracelet, Francesca's. Other bracelet, American Eagle.

Pink leather cord bracelet & charms, Terry Ivory. Anchor Bracelet, Alex and Ani $38.

I loved how my bracelet and nails looked.

Spring & Summer 2013 Color Trends

Ever since Prabal Gurung for Target launched in February, I have noticed a popular color that is hot for the spring and summer. Some call it sulphur, blazing yellow, extreme yellow or even lime.

Embracing my bold statement shoes in Blazing Yellow.
Pantone may have set Emerald as the color of the year, but I have a feeling this will be a close alternative!

It's definitely going to be a color everyone is wearing - hey, even I've bought a few things in this color. And I'm not usually a yellow person. But I have been rocking this look.

Take a look at the Prabal Gurung for Target shoes that I feel started the trend (or at least when I noticed this color's popularity). They may or may not be available on target.com or in stores, which I will tell you in the caption.

Pointy toe flats in Blazing Yellow (View on Target's website here - currently unavailable).

Pointy toe pumps in Sulfur Spring (View on Target's website here - currently unavailable)

Flat Sandal in Blazing Yellow (View on Target's Website here - currently unavailable)

Ankle Strap Pump in Sulfur (View on Target's website here - currently unavailable, find in store option available).

Next came the Lulu Guinness for JC Penney line - in which they have a many of their products featured in a 'lime' color that in person is more yellow toned to me. A friend matched the PGxT ankle strap pumps in sulfur (above picture) to this JCP purse in lime:

Arm Candy Shoulder Bag in lime - view on JCP website here. $37.

Another Target fave is the Mossimo Women's Pleated Peplum Tank in Indian Lime - again very much the same color as the PG and Lulu pieces. This top is a very flattering color for any skin tones, as well as any size.

Peplum tank in Indian Lime - you can view on Target's website here - for $17.99. I found mine for $12.58 on clearance in store.
Here I am in the peplum tank in Osage Orange (really coral).  Just so you can see what this shirt looks like since I don't have a shot of me in the Indian Lime.

Another wonderful example of this yellow in fashion, is the fact that Coach has a shoe featuring this bright pop of color! I am in love with these Coco Flat Sandal in Yellow/Ginger. These puppies run for a steep $138, but they are made from Leather. You decide if they are worth the price!

If you're looking for this amazing pop of color in a cheaper alternative, hop on over to Target and check out these Women's Mossimo Nina Braided Strap Thong Sandal in Extreme Yellow. I tried these on at Target and completely fell in love with them, they are very comfortable and surprisingly have a decent amount of support - while raining my piggy toes in, which I didn't think it would do. And for $19.99 these are a great investment (Target is also running a BOGO 50% off on shoes and handbags this weekend, so this is a wonderful opportunity for you to pick up these sandals in yellow and the other colors, just like I did).

So let me know, are you rocking this awesome color? I hope you enjoy it as much as I am this season.

Ann Taylor Loft Finds/Outfit of the Day

Sometimes I like to pretend that I am already a business professional and try to dress up my every day outfits. Whether I am going to school or eating out with friends, I like to look nice while still feeling trendy. I have found that the casual approach to my so called "business dress" is best found at Ann Taylor Loft.

The model in the shell. Image from loft.com.
I found myself near my local Loft store this week, as I had a $25 off $50 purchase coupon that came in a magazine! The coupon was a great deal and I wanted to take advantage of such a great discount. Everything in the store (and online) is currently 30% off  & free shipping through March 10, 2013 11:59 PM PST.

My styling of the shell, before my sweater.
I picked up a pleated ruffle neck shell in Blackberry Blue. It was originally $34.50, on sale for $20 and with my coupon it was only $10! The shell also comes in the online exclusive colors Wildflower Pink and Cavern Orange. I picked the shell up in XL, it fits true to size and is cinched at the bottom - which normally I don't like, but it isn't tight. I am going to order to the other two colors online seeing as I like this shirt so much.

Upclose view of the necklace from Loft!

I also picked up a really fun necklace (which I am wearing in all pictures) from Loft as well. It is the Long Metallic Petal and Fireball Necklace in gold (online I could only find the online-exclusive silver version). It's a nice necklace that is a flattering length. It was $34.50 and ended up being $14!

My complete outfit, styled with a Prabal Gurung for Target sweater!

Goofing off with a friend at Target, here is the complete outfit. Jeans from Torrid and flip flops from Old Navy.

Lulu by Lulu Guinness for JC Penney

Hi my name is Rachel and I'm addicted to collaborations. It started off as a few purchases and then it turned into I have everything, but....!

This video is my Lulu Guinness Haul of the NEW & old collection. My Youtube Page is Kissmycats3093.

If you know me, I love shopping and the "hottest" or even undiscovered trends. Sometimes I even stumble across the winners, which happens to be the case with my latest obsession: Lulu Guinness.

Picture from luluguinness.com

For those of you who don't know...
"Lulu Guinness is famous for exquisite, witty handbags and accessories, launched her company in 1989 and instantly became a "must" in every fashion aficionado's international address book. All Lulu Guinness stores are designed by Lulu herself and provide the perfect showcase for the entire range of accessories.Despite her success Lulu has never had any formal design training apart from a year's foundation course at art school and a long-standing passion for design and fashion.  In 1989, she left her job in video production to start her own business from the basement of the house in west London.
Lulu's strong personal style and her original ideas have played a large part in her success with her design inspiration springing partly from retro glamour and partly from modern chic." -www.luluguinness.com

I stumbled across a collection LG had designed for JC Penney stores, back in the end of November 2012. I instantly fell in love with her patterns of lips, polka dots and London themed patterns. I couldn't wait to get to JCP Feb. 22 to pick over the newest collection. I looked online before I went, and picked out my two "must haves" - a scarf and purse - which was the only two things I bought. My store had a great selection of everything.

The layout took over a huge section of purses.
This table had bow bags and different sized wallets.
A table with bigger purses and clutches.

I love this blue clutch, but have so many clutches already. This Arm Candy Frame Clutch retails for  $35.
Now here are the two items I purchased: the Bow-tique Mini Cross Body Bag in Bluebird for $30 and the Viscose Printed Oblong Scarf in the Postcard print for $20.

The bag is a great size and a fabulous color.

A close up of the bow - it says Lulu by Lulu Guinness.

I love this scarf because of the postcards, I collect postcards.

The scarf has "cat stamps" on it, just another wonderful thing about the scarf that I completely adore.

So I was good and only bought two things, though I'm hoping the collection will be around to go on clearance, because there were quite a few bags I loved! I will post them below (and link to the bag on JCP in the caption) -- I hope you enjoy and comment and let me know what you like about the collection & tell me what you got, and why you love it!

The Clear Lip Tote in Pink, $45.

Arm Candy Mega Tote in cream/black dots, $65 (I really love this one)

The Top Handle Tote in Red Quilted Heart, $50.

Prabal Gurung for Target Part 3

In the never ending Prabal Gurung reviews (post 1 here and post 2 here), I acquired two new finds that I wanted to share! The Flower Post Earrings in multicolor and the Nolita Tote. Both items were online exclusives (no longer in stock online) that I happened to find in stores. They were both in my online basket on launch night, but I passed because I have so many earrings and totes; however, these two pieces have added such great amount of color to my wardrobe that I definitely would not have imagined.

The earrings retail for $14.99 and are nickel free.

The tote retails for $39.99 and is fabulous!

I really enjoyed spicing up my wardrobe with these two pieces, and I love that the Nolita tote has so many different colors, it also inspired my latest manicure.

Short nails are SUPER hard to do manicures on, but I think I nailed the colors of the collection.

Below, is how I styled the tote and earrings this week. The peplum tank I'm wearing is Target, Yoga Pants & jean jacket are Old Navy.
Apparently I'm a selfie in the bathroom kind of girl.

Paired my look with the Kirna Zabete for Target scarf (no longer available).

Blue eyeliner matches my blue earrings!

Did you get the blue earrings or the tote? What do you think -- do you love them as much as I do?
